My mom and I traveled by car to visit our relatives in Eureka, CA again over the Fourth of July in 2005. I saw my old landlady, Sandy Ellyson, who gave me the food I had left in her cupboard. I helped her weed her property in Eureka for a few hours. I spent most of my energies doing jobs around my aunt's farm -- raking and moving mowed grass, putting up siding, weeding, and upgrading my aunt's noisy old hard drive. The photos are here.
Noelle and I made a couple pumpkins each for Halloween. I made a photojournal of them.
On Saturday, October 2nd, I hiked to Hidden Lake Lookout with Dan Crouse, John Mason (Dan's old boss), and Lisa (John's wife). The weather was perfect. The fire lookout was built in the early 1900's by a man who hauled up the materials by mule or foot. I made a photojournal and a panorama of the view from the top. The hike was 8 miles round-trip and the elevation gain was 3500 feet.
I made a photojournal of a hike I went on last Sunday to the Mt. Baker wilderness. Dan Crouse, his friend Sherry, and I climbed Excelsior Peak and the adjoining Excelsior Ridge, which were painted in beautiful autumn colors. I made a 360° panorama of the view at the top. The only unfortunate part of it was the drive — over 2:30 each way.
I made a photojournal of my work on the trailer at the family apple farm, where I was last week.
Over the past year and a half I've taken pictures of the apple farm in Eureka, California on which my mom grew up. My aunt inherited it, and does her best to run it, but doing so is almost a full time job, and not a very lucrative one. You can see the photos in my photojournal of the Wrigley property.
My parents and I went on a short hike to Fern Canyon, a park along the northern coast of California. My mom had not been there for about 21 years. I made a photojournal of my digital photos. (We all carried cameras, but the images are probably similar that there isn't much point in combining them all.)
My parents and I went to Eureka, California during the beginning of July. While we were there, my dad and I visited the Sequoia Park Zoo, which is only a few blocks away from where he grew up. I took some photos of the zoo's inhabitants and made a photojournal.
I went Hiking on June 19, 2004 with Dan Crouse to the top of Silver Peak, located in Snoqualmie. I had not gone hiking in a while (years?), and it was rough. Dan drove us, which was good, as I was in no condition to drive afterwards. I made a photojournal of the hike and a panorama [4MB QTVR] at the top.
I have created another photojournal; so far, it shows the vegetable garden I planted and helped maintain at Noelle's and the stone path I recently installed in my parents' yard. Again, my Nikon Coolpix 3500 was used.
Using my new script, I created a photojournal of my hydroponic watering system today. It is available for your viewing pleasure. I used my Nikon Coolpix 3500 digital camera to take the photos.
